If you're seeing the above error in KnowledgeTree, it's likely for one of two reasons.

  1. The Marketo credentials used to connect Marketo to KnowledgeTree are different than the credentials defined in your Marketo account
  2. KnowledgeTree is connected to a different Salesforce org than your Marketo account.

Check your Marketo Credentials

To check that the Marketo credentials used to connect to KnowledgeTree are correct login to Marketo and go to the Admin area.

Next, click on the Web Services option in the admin menu on the left.

Take note of the following field values: Endpoint, Identity, and REST API documentation. We'll need these values to match what we'll use in KnowledgeTree to establish a connection between KnowledgeTree and Marketo.

Next, log in to KnowledgeTree and click on the Add button to get to the add assets page.

Select the Marketo asset source and make sure the values for REST API Endpoint, Client ID, and Client Secret match what is describe in Marketo.

Check your Salesforce Connection

Check to make sure the Salesforce org you've synced with Marketo is the same Salesforce org you've connected to KnowledgeTree

Begin by logging in to Marketo and going to the Admin area.

Next, click on the Salesforce option in the admin menu on the left.

Take note of the username you've used to sync your Salesforce org to your Marketo account. We'll need to use this same username to connect Salesforce to KnowledgeTree.

Next, log in to KnowledgeTree and go to Settings.

Check to see which Salesforce user is being used to establish a connection with KnowledgeTree. Again, this will need to be the same as the username used to sync Marketo with Salesforce. If they're different, use the Change User button to connect as that user.
