You may wonder what data KnowledgeTree acquires/processes, what happens to that data, how it is used or stored, who it is shared with, who has access to the data, how long it is retained/destroyed, or any other questions around the security of your data. 


For normal KnowledgeTree operation we expect access to the following SFCDC fields on the corresponding object.

  • Account: Id, Industry, Name, NumberOfEmployees, Website.
  • Case: CaseNumber, Id, Origin, Priority, Reason, Status, Subject, Type. 
  • Contact: Email, FirstName, Id, LastName, Name, OwnerId, Phone, Title
  • Lead: Company, Email, FirstName, Id, IsConverted, Industry, LastName, Name, OwnerId, Phone, Status, Title
  • Opportunity: Amount, CloseDate, CreatedDate, Id, LastModifiedById, Name, OwnerId, Probability, StageName
  • OpportunityContactRoles: ContactId, Id, IsPrimary, OpportunityId
  • OpportunityLineItems: OpportunityId, Id, PricebookEntryId
  • Organization: Name
  • Profile: Id, Name
  • PricebookEntry: Product2Id
  • Product2: Id, Name
  • Topic: Id, Name, User, UserName
  • Additionally, for all Objects we require:
  • LastViewedDate, LastModifiedDate


KnowledgeTree will interact and store data from other fields from SFDC records of type Account, Case, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, and Product if Rules are created in the KnowledgeTree Manager Client by a user with the Admin permission level. Any other data that is stored would be entered by the Marketing Content Curator such as marketing asset document titles, descriptions, etc.


This data is processed by the Knowledgetree API and stored in Knowledgetree's Datomic database which is hosted in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (“EC2”), a commercial hosting service provided by Amazon Web Services, LLC (“AWS“).  The data is used to recommend marketing content and show content curators the performance of the marketing content that is being shared.


Access to application and customer data is restricted to a small subset of trusted, vetted, KnowledgeTree employees on the product development and customer success teams. Such access is only initiated when necessary to provide technical and customer support functions. All employee-initiated transactions in the service are logged and auditable. 


KnowledgeTree takes daily snapshots of your working data and retains them for a minimum of 12 months. KnowledgeTree retains comprehensive logs of all transactions and user activity within the service for a minimum of 12 months. Upon request, we will provide this logging data within 24 hours to enable customers to perform auditing or analysis independently.
