Syncs with Salesforce
We notify you by email and log all sharing and engagement activity right on your Lead, Contact, Account, and Opportunity records. In addition, KnowledgeTree automatically updates Salesforce with new Lead or Contact records when you share content with recipients not yet in SFDC.
Installing KnowledgeTree for Gmail
- Add this Chrome extension with a single click.
- Upon successful installation, refresh your Gmail window.
- Open a new Compose window. You should see the KnowledgeTree icon in the toolbar at the bottom of your email.
TIP: If you don't see the icon, try refreshing the page, and/or clearing your browser cache. In rare cases, you may need to quit and restart Chrome to activate the KnowledgeTree extension.
Connecting your Salesforce AccountIf you're new to KnowledgeTree and have never accessed KnowledgeTree from within Salesforce, you must first visit any record in Salesforce, scroll to the KnowledgeTree window, and click Get Content. This creates your KnowledgeTree user account, and enables you to log in via other clients like Gmail.
- In Gmail, start a new draft or reply to an existing email.
- Click the KnowledgeTree icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the Compose window.
- Click Login with Salesforce and follow the prompts.
How it works
Creating Multi-Asset Microsites
- Enter at least one recipient on the To: line
- Click the KnowledgeTree icon in the Compose toolbar
- Select one or more assets and click Share to add links to your email.
Previewing your Microsite before sending
- Click any of the links in the email body to preview your microsite.
- This is what your prospect will see (note preview message, no stats recorded)
Known LimitationsThis feature is currently in Beta, you may encounter a few bugs and oddities. Here are the ones we know about--please contact us if you find more!
- First-time KnowledgeTree users:
- If you're new to KnowledgeTree and have never accessed KnowledgeTree from within Salesforce, you must first visit any record in Salesforce, scroll to the KnowledgeTree window, and click Get Content. This creates your KnowledgeTree user account, and enables you to log in via other clients like Gmail.
- Asset links get stripped when forwarding an email:
- This is a known Gmail limitation. We're investigating workarounds for follow-up releases.
- Salesforce Sandboxes:
- In the beta release, you cannot link KnowledgeTree for Gmail to a Salesforce sandbox org
- Predictive recommendations:
- Automatic asset recommendations are limited to a single recipient for now, specifically the first recipient in the To: field for which we find a matching record in Salesforce.
- Session timeouts:
- For security purposes, you will be logged out of KnowledgeTree for Gmail when you don't use the application for several hours. You may be prompted to re-authenticate with Salesforce.
