As a marketer or social seller, you may want to be empowered to retrieve a generic, reusable link for any asset so content can be shared in social media channels and build templates that facilitate bulk prospecting.
How to Enable and Configure
In the KnowledgeTree Setting section in the management console, navigate to the Sharing tab.
Here you can enable/disable the Public Sharing. You can set parameters on which channels you want to facilitate public sharing with too (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
Lastly, you can also set a Global template or Asset Specific template to allow you to guide how your Sales team positions content when sharing with customers and prospects on social media.
While still on the sharing tab in settings, you can create a title line and description for your default template. You can add Placeholders to your template. These Placeholders will be replaced with specific information when the Sales rep shares content via social media channels with customers and prospects.
- Asset Title: This will be replaced with the title of the asset being shared.
- KT Share Link: This will be replaced with the share link. This is important and required for the body of your email template. The share link is what customers and prospects will use to view the content being shared with them.
When you're happy with the template, click save. Once saved, any shares conducted by your Sales team will use this default template unless there's an Asset Specific template for the asset they're sharing via social media.
Asset Specific Template
Creating an Asset Specific template for an individual asset will replace the default template and will be presented to the Sales user when they share that asset via social media. To create an asset specific template for an asset go to the asset details page. You can do this by clicking the asset name.
Scroll down to the Public Sharing area for that asset. It will look very similar to the default template card in Settings>Sharing.
Just like the Default template, you have the same two Placeholders. Enter a title, a description, and optionally insert a valid URL link to override the default thumbnail Image shown to customers or prospects.
Once done, save the asset specific template. If at anytime you want to ensure the asset goes back to using the default template, click the Use Default Template link, then Save.
When enabled, generic share links are available for all assets. You can use these links with marketing automation and email template tools, or for social network sharing.
Analytic attribution is dependent the Guestbook feature being enabled. When Guestbook is enabled, analytic attribution will follow the behavior listed in Guestbook. If not enabled, analytic attribution will follow the behavior listed in Sharing Content With KnowledgeTree for Salesforce.
You will see a new icon next to the "Share" button in KnowledgeTree for Salesforce.
Click on the icon to generate a generic link. You can copy this link for marketing automation and email blast, or you can click on one of the social network channels configured.
When social sharing is selected, a new window will be generated with the attached content in its respective channel. In LinkedIn, reps have the ability to add in a note and share posts publicly, with groups, or with individual connections.
In Twitter, reps have the ability to create and send tweets.
In Facebook, reps have the ability to create a post and share on their own timeline, friend's timelines, in groups, or in private messages.
